Trevor’s the name. Professional handmodel. Scrabble champion. And as of 2010, kulula’s new official travel blogger.
People always ask me why I chose blogging? The answer is as simple as stealing a chocolate log from the corner cafĂ©. Not that I’ve ever done that. Blogging chose me. Being published is so 1980-something. In retrospect I think it was a good thing my self-help book was rejected. 14 times. What do editors know anyway? I’m a man of the people. The Madiba of the literary world if you will. Only, you can’t imprison ideas, words or experiences. They need to be free, like Willy. They need to be shared. Blogging just seemed like a natural vehicle for that. It’s like being there, but not being there. Think about that one. I can be deep like that.
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” Robert Frost
I’ve always fancied myself a bit of a Hunter S. Thompson. Apparently we have imilar writing styles. I call my style, shot-gunzo, journalism. I like to really immerse myself in an experience, go native if you will. But with clothes on. And then just let the words flow out like the Nile flows into the Suez Canal. Let the feelings become the words. The words become the picture. And if the pen is mightier than the sword, then the picture is like a tank. Or a hand grenade or something.

Anyway, I hope you like my blog. Check out my pics and comment on my posts. You can also follow me on twitter or become a fan on facebook. But no stalkers please, I already have two restraining orders. Mom says I inherited my dad’s good looks. Sometimes I will bring you some travel deals from kulula.com which will allow you to let the wonders of the world that is South Africa wash over you in easy-to-use pre-packaged holidays.
